Easter Celebrations: Oyo Govt Urges Residents to Embrace Cleanliness, Peaceful Coexistence

As Easter celebrations commence, the Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, has urged residents to maintain cleanliness and proper waste disposal during the festive period.

The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Pastor Ademola Aderinto, highlighted that Easter is a solemn period that calls for reflection on the supreme sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for the redemption of mankind.

While felicitating with Christians on the Easter celebration, He advised residents to dispose of waste through designated waste collectors, separate recyclables, and avoid dumping refuse on road medians, drainage channels, and waterways to prevent environmental hazards.

The Commissioner encouraged regular sanitation of homes, markets, and neighborhoods, adding that residents can report environmental infractions through the Oyo Soro Soke Centre via phone call or WhatsApp on 09116696777.

He urged everyone to celebrate responsibly while contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
