OYSCOHEST SUG PRESIDENT COMRADE BABALOLA WISDOM COMMENDS GOVERNING COUNCIL AND COLLEGE MANAGEMENT FOR TRANSFORMING OKEHO SATELLITE CAMPUS

The President of the Students Union Government ,Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology Eleyele Ibadan ,Comrade Senator Babalola Wisdom Oluwabukunmi has commended the Governing Council Chairman Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro and the College Provost Pharmacist Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo for transforming Okeho Satellite Campus .

He gave the commendation during the recent visit of the new SUG Executives to the satellite campus in Okeho.

He lauded the Governing Council and the Management for doing their best in moving both the main campus and the satellite campus forward.

Comrade Babalola Wisdom called on students to be law abiding and maintain peace and order in the overall interest of their future careers 

The OYSCOHEST SUG PRESIDENT called on the students to be more dedicated to their studies and avoid extra curricular activities that may pose a threat to their better future .

He promised that the College Students Union will continue to pursue the welfare of students at all times

He advised them to shun all acts of thuggery and hooliganism warning them to desist from cultism which can jeopardize their academic pursuits .

He sought the support and the cooperation of the entire Students  for the Union to make steady progress.

Oyo Govt Begins Sensitization on Data Collation, Revenue Drive at Bola Ige Complex

The Oyo State Government has commenced a sensitization exercise at the Bola Ige International Business Complex, New Gbagi, Ibadan, for the full data collation and revenue drive scheduled to begin on Monday, 15th December 2025.

The sensitization, which took off on Friday, was led by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Investment, Trade, Cooperatives, and Industry, Mr. Olajide Mamud Okesade, representing the  Commissioner, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi.

 The sensitization was witnessed by the ministry’s management team, trade officers, officials of the Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency (OYRTMA), and zonal leaders within the business complex.

He explained  that the sensitization builds on earlier directives issued by the commissioner, who had mandated the zonal leaders of the business complex to commence preliminary sensitization efforts several days ago  ensuring that  traders were adequately informed ahead of the government-led exercise.

He said  that the ongoing sensitization was crucial to prepare traders for the upcoming data collation and revenue regularization exercise while also reminding them to update their allocation documents and ensure all  required payments are made only to  designated  government  accounts. 

He further explained that the state government is committed to sanitising commercial environments, strengthening record management, and ensuring that public revenue is properly accounted for.

During a tour of the business complex with OYRTMA officials, the Permanent Secretary highlighted issues discovered during preliminary assessments, particularly concerning rent, service charges, and allocation dues.       

  “We have discovered that some shop owners are not fully complying with the payment of their rent, service charges, and allocation dues into government coffers,” he said.

“Our aim is to update our database because although the Business Information Management System (BIMS) team is active, not all allottees at the Bola Ige International Business Complex have been properly captured.”

He added that the activities of certain agents have contributed to revenue leakages, stressing that all payments must now go directly into the government-approved rent account (the Treasury Single Account—TSA).

He assured traders that the government’s mission is corrective, not punitive.               

 “We are not here to take shops from traders. We only want those without valid allocation documents to regularize them and make the required payments. Once they comply, the ministry will process their documents accordingly,” he said.

He further disclosed that trade officers of the ministry will begin shop numbering and tagging within the complex ahead of the full commencement of the data collation and revenue drive on Monday.

He encouraged traders to give their full cooperation, noting that the exercise will strengthen accountability, improve revenue management, and enhance the ease of doing business in Oyo State.

Director of Okeho Satellite Campus of OYSCOHEST Bags Oyo State 2024 Merit Award

The Director of the Okeho Satellite Campus of the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan, Sanitarian Olugbenga Ajayi, has been honoured with the Oyo State Merit Award 2024.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued in Ibadan over the weekend by the College’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sola Samuel Ojewole, and made available to newsmen.

Sanitarian Olugbenga Ajayi was among the 42 awardees drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Government Agencies across Oyo State.

The award ceremony took place at the House of Chiefs, Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Ibadan, and was presided over by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who personally presented the awards to the recipients.

Speaking at the epoch-making event, Governor Makinde congratulated the awardees and urged them to see the recognition as a motivation to do more in the best interest of Oyo State. He noted that the achievements recorded by his administration since 2019 were the result of the collective efforts of the entire state workforce. The Governor described Oyo State workers as excellent and assured them of continued implementation of worker-friendly policies aimed at improving their welfare.

In his keynote address, the Chairman of the occasion and former Head of Service, Mr Soji Eniade expressed satisfaction with the innovative leadership of the incumbent Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, while also commending Governor Makinde for his worker-friendly administration.

Earlier, in her welcome address, the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, commended Governor Makinde for the prompt payment of salaries, regular promotions, capacity-building programmes within and outside the country, and the recruitment of new workers to strengthen the state workforce.

Speaking with journalists after the award presentation, Sanitarian Ajayi expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for providing an enabling working environment for the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan. He appealed to the Governor to do more for the 92-year-old institution to enable it sustain its leading status as a health training institution.

He also commended the College Management, led by the Provost, Pharmacist Oluyemisi Oyewo, for her sterling leadership, which has continued to drive progress at the College and its satellite campus. He further lauded the Chairman of the Governing Council, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan (Akoro), for his progressive vision for the College.

Meanwhile, the Governing Council Chairman, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, and the College Provost, Mrs Oluyemisi Moradeke Oyewo, have congratulated Sanitarian Olugbenga Ajayi on the well-deserved honour, describing the award as a reflection of his dedication, commitment to duty, and painstaking efforts in revamping the once moribund Okeho Satellite Campus.

They urged other members of staff to emulate the awardee by redoubling their commitment to duty, stressing that excellence and hard work are always rewarded. They emphasized that moving the College forward is a collective responsibility that must guide every worker in the discharge of their duties.

Oyo Govt. Approved December 16 and 17, for the Confirmation, Promotion , Advancement Examination for Civil Servants

The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, mni, has announced that the Confirmation, Promotion and Advancement examinations will take place on Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17, 2025, commencing promptly at 9:00 a.m.

This announcement was made in a statement issued and signed by her Media Officer, Mr. Abiodun Atilola, which was made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State, Capital.

The Head of Service stated that the list of candidates and their respective center numbers has been released based on the expressions of interest submitted via the Google Form by the candidates.

The statement further elaborated, "If your name appears on the uncleared list, it indicates one of the following issues:

i. Name mismatch

ii. Incorrect payment details

iii. Payment made after the Google Form submission deadline of October 31, 2025.

There is no cause for alarm. Arrive early at the examination venue so that the Secretariat can resolve any issues prior to the commencement of the examinations."

The statement also outlined the Candidate Clearance Guidelines as follows:

i. Submission of the Google Form on or before the October 31, 2025 deadline;

ii. Provision of evidence of payment;

iii. Payments made without a timely Google Form submission will result in disqualification.

The Head of Service emphasized that if candidates' names are absent from the list of their respective zones despite having registered within the stipulated timeframe, it is advisable for such candidates to proceed to the complaint center with the necessary documentation. The secretariat will address their concerns and there is no need for panic, the statement assured.

The statement also expressed gratitude to the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for providing a level playing field for all civil servants in the state.

OYO ATHLETE ADESOPE ABIOLA CAN’T STOP WINNING MEDALS

The Oyo State Sports Council proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of Adesope Abiola Wali, a para table tennis star who continues to elevate the state and the nation with his remarkable performances.

Adesope Abiola Wali, born in Foko, Ibadan, has consistently demonstrated excellence on the local, national and international stage, winning numerous medals for Oyo State and Nigeria in Class 9.

National Sports Festival (Asaba 2022) he Won three gold medals representing Oyo State in para table tennis.

International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Tournament – Giza, Egypt (September 20–23, 2023)

Won 2 gold medals for Nigeria: 1 gold in singles event and 1 gold in mixed doubles event.

National Para Games, Abuja (December 8–14, 2023)

Won 1 gold medal in the doubles event and won 1 silver medal in the singles event.

International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Tournament – Giza, Egypt (November 13–15, 2025)

Won 2 gold medals 1 gold in singles event and 1 gold in mixed doubles event and also won 1 silver medal in doubles event.

West African Zone A & B Para Games – Abeokuta, Ogun State (November 26 – December 3, 2025)

At the maiden edition of the West African Zone A & B Para Games, Adesope once again delivered an exceptional performance, winning 2 gold medals for Nigeria: 1 gold in singles event and 1 gold in doubles event.

These achievements underscore Adesope Abiola Wali’s remarkable talent and unwavering dedication. 

His continuous success has brought pride and glory to Oyo State and to Nigeria, further establishing him as one of the nation’s shining para sports ambassadors.

Governor Makinde Kick -Off Oyo Public Service Games Final

 

 ... Security and Safety Sector, Trashes Environment Sector  4-3 

The keenly anticipated Oyo State 2025 Public Service Games encounter pitched the Security and Safety Sector  against the Environment Sector in a thrilling contest in the presence of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde who kicked off the final game.

The football finale  which kicked off at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan at exactly 3.00 p.m before an enthusiastic crowd of civil servants,  sports lovers and other spectators.

Despite the spirited efforts from the Environment Sector side, the Security and Safety Sector proved dominant throughout the game, showcasing superior teamwork and tactical discipline during the game.

 Their resilience paid off as they recorded an emphatic 4-3 victory at the end of regulation time.

The victory cements the Security and Safety sector's strong start in the finale while the Environment Sector team will be looking to bounce back in subsequent competition. 

For the Female Category, Youth and Sports Sector trashes Health  Sector 4-2 through the penalty shootout at the ongoing Public Service Games.

However, the State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni said the games would continue to foster unity, fitness, and camaraderie among the State's workforce. She added that it would enhance their physical and mental alertness in the course of discharging their duties.

The Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the council, led by Comrade Akeem Abas, describing their emergence as a victory for unity, professionalism, and the collective progress of journalists in the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the chairman of the chapel, Comrade Ismail Fasasi, the chapel applauded the peaceful conduct of the election and commended members for demonstrating high levels of decorum throughout the process.
