Akinyele chairmanship aspirant felicitates Mrs. Makinde on 51st birthday

 



A chairmanship aspirant in Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Taiwo has joined well meaning people in Oyo State to felicitate the wife of the state governor, Tamunominini Makinde.

Hon. Taiwo in his congratulatory message, described the First Lady as an advocate of women and children in the society. According to him, Mrs. Makinde has shown her special care for women folks and children in the state and has been the strong backbone of her husband to have succeeded so far.


Chairmanship aspirant therefore wished the governor’s wife well praying that she will live long in good health and longevity. The former Special Adviser on Art and Culture also prayed for the children of the First Lady wishing them progress and God’s protection.


He said: “today our governor is commissioning flagoff Akobo-Olorunda Aba-Ojurin -road which is unprecedented in the history of Oyo State as promised in the Omituntun 1.0. Residents of Olorunda -Aba on Friday trooped out in large number to witness the epoch making event that will turn around economic diversification of the areas”.

“These achievements can’t be possible without the support of his beautiful and amiable wife who had been his strong pillar. Therefore, I, Hon. Kehinde Taiwo popularly known as Olororo wish to congratulate her Excellency on her 51th birthday”, Hon. Taiwo celebrated Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde.

Ex-Ogun NNPP Chairman, Oginni arrested over fraud, money laundering

 




Former Chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), in Ogun state chapter, Comrade Olaposi Sunday Oginni, has been arrested by men of  the Nigeria Police Force, over several allegations bothering on financial misappropriation, fraud, money laundering and financing terrorism in some parts of the country


It was learnt that Oginni, who was recently expelled by the national leadership of the party over alleged anti-party activities, fraud and money laundering was arrested on Tuesday, in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital by team of crack detectives from Force Headquarters Abuja.


It was further gathered that the suspect was detained at Lafenwa Police station before been whisked away on Wednesday to Police Headquarters, Abuja.


His arrest was said to have followed a petition sent to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Usman Alkali Baba, by Mr. E.A Igwe, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of NNPP.


The petition with Ref EAV/MISC/05/1992/2023, dated 20th May, 2023, with the heading: ‘Call For The Arrest Of The Culprits And To Subject Them To The Full Wrath Of The Law’, read in part, “We have been consulted and our legal services retained by the Trustees and active members of New Nigeria People Party NNPP (Hereinafter called our clients) and on whose definite and clear instruction we write you with respect to the above subject matter.


“We are informed by our Clients and we verily believe same that the relevant facts-in-issue are as stated hereunder for your perusal.


“It is our instruction that these culprits are hell-bent and had conspired amongst themselves to deliberately destabilize and frustrate the activities of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) at the party secretariat situate and lying at No. 11 Mahatma Gandhi Street, Area 11, Garki Abuja for no justifiable reason save to project their evil plot by attacking the party secretariat.


“And maliciously damaged the glasses with persistent threat of dealing with the members of the party and subjecting their lives to imminent danger occasioned by the mischief of the culprits hence this petition.


“We are also told that the first culprit being Oginni Sunday Olaposi had in his possession N7.5 Million Cash which he boldly claimed was in his custody an act against the law of the land hence this petition.


“Our clients told us the principal culprit and others did divert several millions of naira belonging to the NNPP by the use of the secret account which are manipulation and indexes of fraud and opened for that purpose. The culprits by that conduct are running down the party formation and will not stop unless arrested and subjected to the full wrath of the law.


“The main culprit is guilty of money laundering charges and will not stop in such boasted act unless arrested and subjected to the full wrath of the law.


“It is our further information that the culprits are also guilty of gun running which most of them used during the just concluded election in some states including Ogun state.


“The culprits are also fingered to be financing terrorism contrary to section 25 of the money laundering Act.


“It is our further information that the principal suspect (Mr. Oginni) is guilty of obtaining money from several gubernatorial candidates in the just concluded 2023 election under the platform of NNPP and many victims are available to testify at the point of hearing. We are told that the ill activities of these culprits had drastically affected the activities of the NNPP party new caretaker chairman for Ogun state in the person of Prince Ibrahim Adekunle and if the culprits are not arrested many things will go wrong in the party hence this petition.


“The principal suspect (Mr. Oginni) is said to have fraudulently removed party files, computers and printer from the party office supply because he was expelled from the party. The same culprit is said to have fraudulently opened suspicious account in the name of NNPP without consent of Board of Trustees, made himself and the former treasurer signatories to the account where many unsuspected victims paid millions of naira which a clear case of criminal deceit and criminal conversion of party fund.


“Our attention has also been drawn to the fact that because of the ill-gotten money in custody of the culprit to the detriment of the party that they diverted the said sum to the financing of terrorist in some parts of the country and may not stop unless arrested and interrogated properly. The culprits with their mischief are causing fear in the mind of our numerous clients hence this petition.


“Our clients make haste to raise this petition for your intervention because the culprits are said to be boasting to the hearing of many people that they have the money and contact to sweep under the carpet any complaint against them no matter the nature even if it is heinous crime.


“We write on behalf of our client and to request that the culprits be arrested and subjected to the full wrath of the law. We count on you”.


When contacted on the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ogun State Command, Omolola Odutola, said she could not speak on the issue because Oginni was not arrested by men of the Command but from Abuja, stating that only the Force Public Relations Officer in Abuja, that can talk on the arrest.

Be Focused, Read Your Books to Become Tomorrow's Leader - Oyo HOS Charges Students

 





The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni, has advised students of the Public and Private Schools to be focused, hardworking and read their books to become tomorrow's leader.


She stated this while hosting students of the B and B International School, Akobo, Ibadan on a courtesy visit.


She said education is one of the four cardinal points of the present administration in the State after Health, Security and Expanded Economy through Agri - Business.


The Head of Service urged teachers of Public and Private Schools to always provide information that can help the State Government to improve the standard of education  in the State.


She added that the State Government has capable hands in the education sector to ensure a solid education background for the students.


In her remarks, the proprietress B and B International School, Mrs Abosede Omololu commended the State Government for its giant stride in the education sector.  


She hinted  that the proprietress association would cooperate with the State Government in its efforts to improve the standard in education sector.

Oyo Govt, will continue to Priroitize Workers Welfare, Provide Palliatives

 




The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni, has said that the present administration in the State would continue to Prirotize workers welfare to cushion the effect of the Fuel Subsidy removal.


She stated this while receiving leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at the Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Ibadan.


She said the State Government has started deploying more buses through the Pace Setter Transport system to take people from one place to another with 50 percentage reduction as part of the efforts to cushion the effect of the fuel Subsidy removal for the general public.


She added that within the limited resources, the State Government would ensure all workers are happy.


The Head of Service reiterated further that the committee set up by Engineer, Seyi Makinde had started working on the new minimum wage for all workers in the State, saying  that, the State Government is looking at all possible way to reduce the surfering of the masses.


She said "we are lucky in Oyo State that we have a listening Governor, we have a governor that see Civil Service as his constituency, with this, Oyo State will be far better than any other State in Nigeria on minimum wage".


She then urged  labour union in the State to always jaw-jaw instead of war-war, saying that, the Head of Service office will co-opt other unions that is necessary into the Civil/Public Service minimum wage negotiation.


In his remarks, the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Kayode Martins said for the first time, the Government is calling the labour union to review the salary upward.


He appreciated the present administration for prioritizing workers welfare, hinting that, the labour union will not relent to ensure that the minimum wage is done on time as well as palliative measures for all workers in the State.

I will Continue to Improve Standard in Broadcasting Industry - Abiodun Salami, Celebrates Birthday

 



The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, SAS Media Academy, Mr. Abiodun Salami has said that he would continue to improve the standard in the Broadcasting Industry.


He stated this while addressing staff of the Mesiogo online radio under the umbrella of Yellowmania Communications to mark his 2023 birthday ceremony.


Abiodun Salami is the son of the Group General Manager, Fresh Fm International, Alhaji Abolade Salami, Yellowmania also trained under his father's tutulage as a broadcaster.


"I started my career in the year 2007 with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, (FRCN) Ibadan before I left in 2009 to further my education, I was also in the system throughout my education period."



I anchored programmes on Radio Nigeria Ibadan, before I proceeded to king Fm, Pensioners fm, Lagelu fm, Fresh fm, Solutions fm, Some of the programmes are, Aiye Campus, Campus Life, Kata Kara, Buying and Selling, KOJU MARIBI,  NIFAAJI, 

LAGBO REGAL, GBE BODY E, among others.


He is currently a senior programme officer at  Prince Fm Ibadan Presenting a Political Programme every wednesday tittled OSELU GBODE and FAAJI UNLIMITED every Saturday night.



Oyo/Osun Surveyor General Charges Egbedore, Surulere LG Communities to Maintain Peace Over Boundary Dispute

 




The Chairman, Technical Committee on Boundary Dispute Resolution, the Surveyor General of Oyo State, Surveyor, Alaba Abiodun has charged people of Surulere Local Government area in Oyo State and Egbedore Local Government areas in Osun State to maintain peace over boundary disputes.


He stated this during a fact finding visit to "Mongele Community" in Surulere Local Government over boundary dispute between Oyo and Osun State.


He said the fact - finding  mission to the affected communities was successful, hinting that, the Surveyor General of the two States will work very fast about the report and resolve the boundary matters amicably.


He said. "We will meet with our Osun State counterpart, the Surveyor General of Osun State, we will compare notes and bring out a joint report that would be submitted to the State Government and the National Boundary Commission NBC".


The Surveyor General enjoined the communities in Surulere and Egbedore Local Government area in Osun State to maintain Status- Quo -Ante and also allow peace to rain in their domain pending the outcome of the report, which according to him will come out before the end of the year 2023.


Also Speaking, the Osun State Surveyor General, Surveyor Ayodele Abioye admonished the community leaders to inform their youths to maintain peace pending the outcome of the exercise.


"The stakeholders from the two Local Governments should allow peace to reign, at the end of the exercise, something good will come out that will please the two Local Government areas."


In their separate remarks, the Onimongele of Mongele, Oba Kazeem Inaolaji Olapade and Alawe of Ilawe, Oba Abdul Kareem Alao Olatunde Osunbunmi 11, commended the government of Oyo and Osun State for their proactive steps to boundary matters in their States.







 


Why I’m best choice to become next Akinyele chairman – Hon. Kehinde Taiwo

 




The grassroot politician, Hon. Kehinde Taiwo popularly known as Olororo has revealed why he will be the best choice to become next Chairman of Akinyele Local Government.

Olororo in a chat with Livetimes9ja correspondent, revealed how the local government has lagged behind by lacking some developmental facilities. He however promised to provide the lacking facilities as he gave his stewardship so far in the local government area.


The astute politician has been a member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) since time of Senator Rashidi Ladoja as Governor of Oyo State. He was Special Adviser on Art & Culture to former Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe.


Hon. Taiwo later became Ward secretary with recorded best performances and he has since been in PDP and taking good care of party members.


He contested for Akinyele chairmanship seat during Gov. Makinde’s first term in office but he was not picked.

In a chat with our correspondent, Hon. Taiwo is praying and hoping to be picked this time as he clamour to run again to occupy the chairmanship seat.


He assured people of Akinyele Local Government that he will perform more than their expectations. He noted that PDP in the past have doing well in the local council area but after All Progressive Congress (APC) chairmen came on board during late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi regime, developmental facilities have been lacking in the local council area.


“Educational system in Akinyele under APC was in a bad state. I promise to restore these including the social amenities. I will also restore lost glory of Sasha market”, Hon. Taiwo promised.
