The newly appointed Head of Service in Oyo State, Dr. Mrs. Adenike Fasina, mni, has pledged to build on the achievements of her predecessor, stressing that service reform remains a continuous exercise aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the State's Civil Service.
Dr. Fasina made the declaration on Monday while officially assuming duty as the 32nd Head of Service in Oyo State at the Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Ibadan.
She expressed profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for the confidence reposed in her through the appointment, describing the governor as a God-sent leader committed to the development of the state and the welfare of its workforce.
The new Head of Service assured civil servants that her administration would be guided by the fear of God and strict adherence to the extant rules and regulations governing the public service
She said. “Service reform is a continuous exercise, we need to do all we can within our capability to give the state the very best, It will be a disservice to the state if we are lazy and not punctual at our duty posts,”
Dr. Fasina charged Civil and Public servants across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to remain committed to the core values of the Civil Service and uphold the rules and regulations that guide the system.
She emphasized the importance of Accountability, Transparency, Integrity and Efficiency, noting that public servants must strive to be worthy role models for younger generations and those who will join the service in the future.
The Head of Service also used the occasion to offer prayers for the safe return of the teachers and school children recently kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of the state.
She prayed for divine intervention and expressed optimism that the victims would regain their freedom safely.
“We pray that God grants them divine intervention and sets them free. We believe they will return safely and the state will mark the victory of their release,”
Dr. Fasina's assumption of office marks a new chapter in the administration of Oyo State's Civil Service with expectations that ongoing reforms and improvements in service delivery will be sustained under her leadership.
