Hundreds of civil servants across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Oyo State on Monday trooped out to give a warm and colourful welcome to the newly appointed Head of Service, Dr. Mrs. Adenike Fasina, as she officially assumed duty as the 32nd Head of Service of the Pacesetter State.
The atmosphere around the State Secretariat, Ibadan, was filled with excitement and celebration as workers from various MDAs gathered to receive the new Head of Service.
Our correspondent observed civil servants singing, dancing and displaying placards in solidarity as they accompanied Dr. Fasina from the Ministry of Finance to the Office of the Head of Service within the Secretariat complex.
The workers described Dr. Fasina's appointment as a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, professionalism and years of service in the Oyo State Civil Service.
Speaking during the procession, some of the workers expressed optimism that her leadership would usher in a new era of improved welfare, enhanced productivity and greater efficiency in the state's public service.
The colourful reception underscored the confidence and support the civil service workforce has in the new Head of Service as she begins the task of steering the affairs of the state's bureaucracy.
Dr. Fasina succeeds Mrs. Olubunmi Oni she is expected to provide strategic leadership aimed at strengthening service delivery and advancing the goals of the Oyo State Government.
