Maiden Induction/Oath Ceremony of the Medical X-Ray Technicians Department, Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan held by the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria
The Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan, in conjunction with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria, on Tuesday, November 11, held the maiden induction and oath taking ceremony of the Medical X-Ray Technician graduates, marking a significant milestone in the history of the institution. The event officially inducted a new set of students into the professional practice of medical radiography.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Head of Department, Medical X-Ray Technician Department, RAD. M.O. Bello (Mrs), who expressed gratitude to the management and stakeholders for their continuous support in advancing health education and professional training.
In her remarks, the Provost, Pharm. Oluyemisi Moradeke Oyewo, congratulated the inductees and emphasized the College’s commitment to academic excellence and ethical healthcare practice. She also charged the inductees to perform their profession with integrity, precision and empathy. She extended appreciation to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, for his unwavering support to the institution, particularly in appointing a new Governing Council, employing new staff members into its workforce and the approval of fund for the accreditation of some of its courses.
In the same vein, the Chairman, Governing Council, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, also addressed the gathering, commending the Department for its achievement and charging the inductees to uphold integrity, professionalism, and dedication in their service to humanity.
Representing the Registrar/CEO of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), Prof. Mark Okeji, RAD. X. Chidiebere Thaddeus conducted the oath taking /induction of the new practitioners. He congratulated the inductees and advised them to uphold the ethical standards of the profession while continually improving their competence through training and exposure.
The Mother of the Day, RAD. Sumbo Oyedele, delivered a heartfelt charge to the inductees, urging them to stay committed to excellence and to carry out their duties with compassion, discipline, and professionalism.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including representatives of key health institutions in Oyo State, management and staff of the College. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, was represented by Mrs. Tolulope Olusola Jimoh, Permanent Secretary, Health sector, Ibarapa zone; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Akintunde Ayinde, was represented by the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Pharm. Moses Adewole; and the Chairman, Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, was represented by the Director of Health Administration, Dr. Olatunde Oladipo.
Other notable attendees included RAD. Alice Iyabo Gbadamosi, RAD. Ozonji (Chairman, ARN Oyo State), and RAD. Okaku, who all expressed their delight at the successful conduct of the maiden induction and congratulated the new inductees on their entry into the profession.
The ceremony concluded with a group photograph session and moments of celebration as the newly inducted X-Ray Technicians took their professional oath, symbolizing their official entry into the medical imaging profession.
