The Tife Loft Unisex Salon Training Centre, popularly known as TTL, is offering hair and beauty services while equipping young people with practical skills to become self-employed, regardless of their educational qualifications.
The Tife Loft Unisex Salon, a hair and beauty establishment in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, is expanding opportunities for young people through professional training in hairstyling and other beauty-related services.
Located at Shops 1 and 2, Akare Junction, opposite Mardie Grazz Restaurant and Bar, Ire-Akari, along Akala Expressway, Challenge–New Garage axis, Ibadan, the salon combines beauty services with skills acquisition programmes designed to promote creativity, entrepreneurship and self-reliance among youths.
The salon's training initiative, tagged "Learn, Create, Earn," is designed to equip graduates and non-graduates with practical skills that could enable them to establish their own businesses and earn a living independently.
Through the initiative, the Tife Loft Unisex Salon Training Centre seeks to build confidence among young people by providing them with opportunities to acquire vocational skills, develop their creativity and pursue sustainable livelihoods beyond conventional employment.
The centre's training programmes cover various aspects of the beauty industry, including hair braiding, barbing, hair installation, dreadlocks and relocking, as well as nail care and pedicure.
Beyond training, the salon provides professional beauty services to customers, with a focus on helping them look good, feel confident and enjoy a quality grooming experience.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the business, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Tife Loft Unisex Salon Training Centre, Adeleke Boluwatife Benedicta, pointed out that her passion for beauty and hairstyling predated her experience in the banking industry.
Boluwatife, Ibadan born banker-turned-beauty entrepreneur, explained that her previous experience in the beauty sector, coupled with her banking career, influenced her decision to establish the business as an additional source of income and a long-term investment.
She said "I have always loved beauty and hair. I have also worked in the beauty industry for years before transitioning into the banking industry."
Boluwatife continued. "More importantly, as a banker, I understand risk and diversification. I wanted to build an asset that wasn't tied directly to my salary. A salon is a cash-flow business. If you structure it right, people will always need their hair done, no matter what the economy is doing."
She said the vision behind the business extends beyond providing beauty services to creating opportunities for young people to acquire marketable skills, become financially independent and contribute to economic development through entrepreneurship.
She expressed appreciation to the salon's customers across the South-West and other parts of Nigeria, particularly those in Ibadan, Ring Road and the Challenge-New Garage axis, for their continued patronage and support.
Boluwatife. a graduate of philosophy at the University of Ibadan, disclosed further that another branch of the salon would soon open in the Ashi -Bodija area of Ibadan to bring its services closer to residents of Bodija, Bashorun, Akobo and the neighbouring communities.
She assured existing and prospective customers of the business's commitment to quality service delivery and customer satisfaction, while encouraging interested young people to explore the training opportunities available at the centre.
She said The Tife Loft Unisex Salon Training Centre aims to establish itself as a destination for personal grooming and skills development in Ibadan.
