Religious Leader Advocates Collective Action to Address Rising Kidnapping Cases

The Founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has urged Nigerians to prioritize efforts aimed at rescuing kidnapped children and other victims of abduction rather than participating in protests across the country.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos, the cleric expressed concern over the growing insecurity challenge, particularly the continued abduction of children and citizens by criminal groups operating in forests and remote areas. He argued that national attention should be directed toward securing the release of those in captivity and supporting measures to tackle kidnapping.

Prophet Ikuru questioned the effectiveness of protests held in cities such as Lagos and Ibadan, stating that demonstrations could divert attention from urgent security concerns. According to him, collective efforts should be focused on addressing the plight of victims and strengthening initiatives that promote peace and public safety.

The religious leader also called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and allow his administration to carry out its responsibilities without unnecessary distractions. He emphasized the need for citizens to approach leadership with respect and understanding, regardless of political differences.

In addition, Prophet Ikuru condemned the use of insulting or offensive language against the President, urging Nigerians to respect constituted authority and avoid actions capable of creating division or undermining national stability.

Expressing confidence in the country's leadership, he stated that President Tinubu would remain strong and healthy and predicted that he would secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Prophet Ikuru concluded by encouraging Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and constructive engagement while working together to address the nation's security challenges, especially the growing threat of kidnapping and the safe return of victims still being held captive.
