... Impounds Livestock in Iseyin
The Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA) has intensified its enforcement activities against illegal open grazing and unauthorized livestock rearing at Apata Olomo, off Ado-Awaye Road, Iseyin, in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The enforcement operation was initiated following petitions received from farmers within the community, who alleged that the activities of some herders had led to the destruction of farmlands and the consumption of agricultural produce by livestock, thereby affecting their livelihoods.
Acting on the complaints, the OYRLEA enforcement team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Francis Ojoomo (Rtd), alongside the Chief of Staff to the OYRLEA Chairperson, Kofoworola A. Akinbode, Esq., and other security operatives, proceeded to the area to investigate the claims.
During the operation, the allegations were verified as the team discovered livestock openly grazing in violation of the State’s regulations on open grazing and livestock control. This led to the impoundment of some of the animals by the enforcement team.
OYRLEA reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting agricultural communities, and ensuring compliance with livestock management regulations across Oyo State
