OYSCOHEST Provost Felicitates Muslim and Christians




The Provost of Oyo State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful and Christians  within the College community as they commence the significant spiritual seasons of Ramadan and Lent.


In a statement by the College PRO, Mr Sola Samuel Ojewole, the Provost congratulated Muslim faithfuls on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, describing it as a sacred period dedicated to fasting, prayer, charity, self-discipline, and compassion for humanity.



The Provost noted that Ramadan serves as a reminder of the core values of sacrifice, humility, kindness, and total submission to the will of Almighty God, urging them to use the period to pray for peace, unity, and national development in Nigeria.


The College boss also extended heartfelt greetings to Christians on the observance of Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the 40-day Lenten season. According to the Provost, the Lenten period offers Christians the opportunity for repentance, reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal, while strengthening their commitment to service to humanity.



The Provost further emphasized that as both sacred seasons begin simultaneously, it presents a unique opportunity for members of the College community to promote religious harmony, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.


The statement added that the College remains committed to promoting unity, moral excellence, and character development among staff and students, in line with its mandate of producing highly skilled and ethically sound health professionals.


The Provost prayed that the season of fasting and praying,  would bring healing to homes, strengthen communities, and foster continued peace and progress across Oyo State and Nigeria.


The statement concluded with best wishes of Ramadan Kareem to Muslim faithful and a spiritually fulfilling Lenten season to Christians.
