...receives Cooperative Leaders’, Others Condolences
The Oyo State, Ministry of Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry
has continued to receive condolences following the demise of the Director of Cooperatives in the Ministry, Mrs. Medinat Arinola Adedeji (née Ashiru-Mobolaji), who passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, after a brief illness.
The Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olajide Okesade, led the management team and staff of the ministry on condolence visits to the family of the deceased at her residence in Oke-Ibadan Estate, Akobo, and later at her Parent's house in Ikolaba, Ibadan.
Speaking during the visits, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi described the late Director as a dedicated, compassionate, and highly committed public servant whose contributions to cooperative development and the ministry would be deeply missed.
He noted that testimonies about her humility, professionalism, and character were widespread, adding that his relationship with her was akin to that of brother and sister.
He appealed to the family to take solace in the will of Almighty Allah, praying for mercy upon her soul and strength for the family.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olajide Okesade, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late Director of Cooperatives Mrs. Adedeji as a woman of integrity who lived a purposeful life and left behind a worthy legacy in the civil service.
He encouraged staff to live meaningful lives anchored on good character and dedication to duty, stressing that legacy, not position, defines lasting impact.
Similarly, the ministry also received a delegation of cooperative leaders who paid a condolence visit to the Oyo State Government and the ministry over the demise of the Director of Cooperatives.
The delegation comprised leaders of the Financing Agency of Oyo State Cooperative Society, Ibadan/Ibarapa Cooperative Societies Movement, and Odua Conglomerate Nigeria Limited Cooperative Society, and was led by Mr. Kayode Oloruntobi, General Manager, Odua Conglomerate Nigeria Limited Cooperative Society.
Speaking on behalf of the cooperative leaders, Alhaji Fatai Alabi, leader of the Ibadan/Ibarapa Cooperative Societies Movement, described the late Director as a strong pillar of support to cooperative societies across the state, noting that her leadership, accessibility, and commitment significantly strengthened the cooperative movement.
Other members of the delegation included Mr. Raji Abimbola of the Cooperative Financing Agency of Nigeria and other cooperative societies leaders.
