JOURNALISM PROFESSION IS GOD ORDAINED - REVD OLAWOYIN

The Journalism profession is ordained by God as it was seen in the Holy Bible, 2 Sam 1: 1- 10

The declaration was made by the Very Rev'd Samuel Kayode Olawoyin why hosting members of Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Media get - together at the Cathedral Chapter House, Cathedral of St Peter,Aremo, Ibadan on Saturday 27th December, 2025

In his charge, Very Rev'd Olawoyin saw media as a tool for evangelism and church growth, consequently, the Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Media must preach only Jesu and His attributes

" I charge you all to use media to spread the gospel, it is a call which can be natural or supernatural, see it as your ministry", the clergy further stressed

He reminded the media to note that Jesus birth and His 2nd coming was known through the media, adding that media should do away with fake news,  black mailing, destruction, not a show off or pride, not to amass weath but embark on developmental journalism constantly thinking about life after death where worldly materials and riches are useless

Earlier in his welcome address, the Diocesan Communicator who doubles as the chairman of Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Media Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga expressed his gratitude to the Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, His Grace, the Most Rev'd Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe for giving the Diocesan Media the opportunity to serve ,his efforts and supports to nurture the body to maturity

The Diocesan Communicator  solicits more support from the Diocese, Achdeaconries, societies and individuals to take Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Media to a greater height

He urged members of the Diocesan Media not to see their engagement as personal enrichment but a call to serve in God's vineyard

In his contributions, the Coordinator for the Diocesan Media Revd Peter Oluwatayo thanked the members of the media team for their selfless services,  endurance and sacrifice made so far

He enjoined them not to rest on their oars but continue to offer their services to expand God's kingdom anywhere they find themselves

In the training lecture he delivered titled," Social Media Ethics and Content Strategy" by Yinka Adeniran , he said Social Media is not created by God but by man, describing it as delicate and dangerous though very fast

Adeniran admonisshed media men to be cautious of the use of the social media because at times it carries fake news, misinforms and misleading, calling on the affected authorities as well as law enforcement agents to curb the excesses of these untrained and none media professionals in order to sanitize the media industries and society at large

Participants were drawn from all the Achdeaconries in Ibadan North Anglican Diocese

The get - together party was sponsored by our patron and matron Very Rev'd Samuel Kayode Olawoyin and Dr ( Mrs) Lola Olawoyin respectively
