OGUNKEYEDE FAMILY LAUNCHES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IN HONOR OF LATE PARENTS FOR 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

The children of the late Chief Joshua Adedeji Ogunkeyede and Chief Mrs. Rachel Jolade Ogunkeyede have announced a scholarship program for indigent students across the nation, in honor of their parents' 60th wedding anniversary. The initiative aims to assist less privileged students in furthering their education.

According to Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, Head of Service in Oyo State and one of the five children of the deceased couple, the scholarship program has already benefited about 40 students across the seven geopolitical zones of the country.

"We believe we will be able to do more for the indigents who apply, Pupils and students from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions have been benefiting from the scheme. We sometimes give laptops to brilliant students who may not be from indigent homes, and we also provide a monthly stipend to some indigent students."

The scholarship program, dubbed the "JolaDeji Sept 30 Education Support initiative," is a legacy initiative that reflects the couple's philanthropic spirit.

Mrs. Oni noted that their late parents instilled in them the values of giving back to the community.

The couple married on September 30, 1965, and their 60th anniversary falls on September 30, 2025.

This noble initiative is a testament to the enduring legacy of Chief Joshua Adedeji Ogunkeyede and Chief Mrs. Rachel Jolade Ogunkeyede, and it is expected to make a significant impact on the lives of many students.
