Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, has congratulated Oba (Senator) Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on his official announcement and confirmation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, ahead of his coronation in September.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Kunle Olatunji, Senator Akintunde described the elevation of the former governor and statesman as “a divine fulfillment of destiny and a joyous moment for the people of Ibadanland.”
According to the Senator, “I have enjoyed a unique closeness with Baba, whom I proudly regard as my leader. My joy knows no bounds to witness his final ascension to the exalted throne of the Olubadan of Ibadanland. For me and his close associates, this is a dream God has finally ordained. I join the great sons and daughters of Ibadanland to celebrate this historic moment.”
Senator Akintunde further extolled the virtues of the Olubadan-designate, noting that his life has been marked by resilience, divine grace, and uncommon achievements.
“Your Imperial Majesty, your journey reflects unusual divine benevolence. You have been a great source of inspiration to many of us. I feel privileged to have benefitted from your wealth of experience, deep intellect, and unwavering trust in divine providence,” Akintunde stated.
He lauded Oba Ladoja’s impressive profile as a seasoned politician, accomplished entrepreneur, industrialist, and community leader who has served as a Senator, former Governor of Oyo State, and now stands as the incoming paramount ruler of Ibadanland.
“No doubt, your enviable wealth of experience will bring greater honour to the traditional stool of Olubadan. Ibadan is set to witness unprecedented development and monumental growth under your reign,” the Senator added.
Senator Akintunde prayed for God’s guidance, strength, and good health for the monarch as he assumes his new role, wishing him a reign of peace, unity, and progress for Ibadanland.
“Congratulations, Your Imperial Majesty,” he concluded.
