OYO CHARGES NEWLY DEPLOYED SOCU OFFICERS ON TRANSPARENCY AND DILIGENCE




The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Musbau Babatunde has charged newly deployed Officers to the Oyo State Operation Coordinating Unit (OYOSOCU) to be diligent and committed towards building a transparent and credible State Social Register of the poor and vulnerable in the State.


He gave this charge while receiving the SOCU team, led by the State Coordinator, Mr Ismail Salami during a courtesy visit to the Ministry.


Prof Musbau emphasized the importance of accuracy, transparency and accountability in managing the State Social Register which serves as a foundational tool for social protection programs that are targeted at improving the lives of the Poor and Vulnerable.


He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment towards supporting SOCU in achieving its mandate under Engr Seyi Makinde led administration. He urged the Officers to discharge their duties with integrity and professionalism, noting that their role is key to success of the State's Social Safety Net programs.


Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Tunde Ayanleke welcomed the newly deployed Officers and stressed the need for teamwork and transparency in fulfilling OYOSOCU's mandate of expanding and maintaining a credible Social Register of the Poor and Vulnerable in the State.


In his response, the SOCU Coordinator expressed his heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde for his continued support towards the Unit. He assured the Honourable Commissioner that the Unit remains committed to excellent and will do everything within its capacity to build on the State’s achievements and make it greater.
