25 PHARMACY TECHNICIAN INDUCTEES GRADUATE WITH DISTINCTION AS PHARMACY COUNCIL OF NIGERIA INDUCTS 55 OYSCOHEST PHARMACY TECHNICIAN GRADUATES




Twenty five Pharmacy Technician Graduates of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan graduated with Distinction,  as Pharmacy Council of Nigeria  inducted them into the Pharmacy subcadre on Thursday, 13th March, 2025.


The ceremony which was held in the College Hall attracted eminent personalities in the Pharmacy Profession  as well as the Management of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology Eleyele Ibadan,  parents  and top officials from the Oyo State Ministry of Health,  led by the representative of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi,  who was represented by the Director, Secondary Health care and Training, Dr Adekunle Aremu.



Welcoming the gathering,  the Chief Host of the ceremony,  the Provost of the College,  Pharmacist Oluyemisi Oyewo congratulated the newly inducted Pharmacy Technicians for  the success attained , urging them to proceed further in their  professional and academic career. She charged them to abide by the ethics of the profession in their practice.


She further implored them to always exhibit good moral and professional character  in discharging their duties in the overall benefit of the society.



She commended the Oyo State Governor,  Engineer Seyi Makinde for his support for the College and his commitment to two of the four cardinal programmes of his administration ; health and education, to which the College is also committed to and for his constant financial and logistic supports. 


Addressing the inductees, the Registrar, Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), Pharm. Ibrahim Babasheu Ahmed, who was represented by the PCN Oyo state officer, Pharm. James Iyiola, urged them to always adhere strictly to the Code of Conducts and other regulations of  PCN.

The PCN Registrar also reminded the Provost and Principals of Colleges and Schools of Pharmacy Technician Training to ensure that candidates are in compliance to the PCN guidelines on admission and ensure that the Indexing of the students must be done within six months of admission.



The Special Guest of Honour and the Oyo State Commissioner for Health,  Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi who was represented at the  ceremony commended the Management of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology Eleyele Ibadan for keeping the flag flying in academic and  behavioural standards and gave an assurance of more support by the State government in  ensuring  that the academic standard of the College is sustained and enhanced. 


The Head of the Pharmacy Technicians' training Department,  Pharm Olanike Abimbola  commended the Provost of the College,  Pharm. Oluyemisi Oyewo for laying a solid foundation for the Pharmacy Technicians' Training, when she was the Head of the Department and  promised to continue to sustain the already set standard. She equally thanked the Management of the College under the leadership of the Provost,  for their support for the department. 


Some of the Inductees interviewed after the ceremony, expressed their gratitude to the  College for giving them sound training, which has  qualified them for  their induction into the profession, promising not to rest on their oars until they attain the pinnacle of the Pharmacy Profession.


The induction ceremony also featured the presentation of awards  for excellent academic  performances  while certificates and licences to practise were also  distributed to the inductees by the PCN Oyo State officer, Pharm. James Iyiola.


It was jubilation galore thereafter, as the inductees could not hide their joy over their induction into the Pharmacy profession.
