The Provost of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Pharm. (Mrs) Oluyemisi Oyewo has congratulated the Muslim Staff and Students for witnessing this year's Ileya Festival amidst the socio-economic challenges bedeviling the country.
The congratulatory message is contained in a statement issued in Ibadan over the weekend on behalf of the College Provost by the Institution's Chief Public Relations' Officer, Mr Sola Samuel Ojewole.
Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo urged them to imbibe the lessons of the festival which mainly centres on obedience to the Almighty God as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim who wanted to sacrifice his only son, Ishmael before God replaced the son with a ram which had since become a symbol of obedience.
The OYSCOHEST boss enjoined the Islamic faithful to always obey God and constituted authorities and use the festive period to pray for themselves, the College, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
She implored the entire staff of the College to continue to work together in peace, unity and love for one another for the College to continue to move forward.
She also admonished the staff and students irrespective of their religious leanings, to always forgive the mistakes of fellow colleagues for peace and tranquility to reign within the College Community.
The College boss enjoined the staff and students to abstain from backbiting, rumour mongering, character assassination and unhealthy rivalry in the overall interest and progress of the Institution.
She prayed that God will grant their hearts' desires during and after the Ileya celebrations.
