NIEEE Inducts 37 Student Members.

 



The Nigeria Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE), Ibadan Chapter, has inducted 37 new students from Polythecnic, Ibadan for 2023 Students members induction, mentoring and Technical Lecture Series.


The event took place at the Assembly Hall, North Campus of the Polythecnic, Ibadan with the Theme "Electrical Engineering, Past, Present and Prospects".


In his Welcome address, the Chairman of the Institute, Engineer, Babatunde Ogunpaimo said NIEEE Ibadan Chapter in collaboration with the like minded Nigerians has taken a bold step to promote engineering professionalism and mentorship for the new inductees to access better engineering services.


He said "The NIEEE has decades of record as the foremost and leading professional body among engineering professions in Nigeria since it was established in 1984, it currently houses over 15,000 strong databases of engineers and other professional engineering cadre in all specialities of Electrical/Electronics Engineering has 35 Chapters spread across all the geo-political zones of the country."


Engineer  Ogunpaimo implored  lecturers of Higher Institutions, Private  Practitioners, to avail themselves of the opportunity to become chattered members of the Institute.


The Guest Speaker: Engr. Femi Jacob's  the Chairman Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Council (NERC) represented by Engr. Oluseye Ajibade, in a technical lecture titled "Electrical Engineering: Past, Present and Prospects" was delivered by Engineer Oluseye Ajibade.


Engineer Ajibade admonished all  inductees to make use of the  knowledge they garnered from the school to expand themselves outside.


Responding, one of the inductees, Aishat Adegbenla appreciated the executive members of the institute for  bringing the Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) to the Higher institutions as a student chapter, which according to her is a formative stage to  Engineers in embryo.  She louded the efforts of the professional body NIEEE in her drive at attaining the chartered status CIEEEN, which had come to fruition as gazetted by the law of the federal republic of Nigeria. 


Present at the event were the Chief Executive Officer MAO Electrical and Technical Limited,whom was represented by Olori Halima  Alimi. Also at the event is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Institute Engr. Olayiwola Oyelade, the Chairman Organising Committee and the membership Secretary: Engr. R.A Amao and Engr.( Mrs) Raheemat Abisola Adabanija the Deputy Chairman, Association of Professional Women in Engineering (Apwen) Ibadan chapter.
