Govt will Continue to Prioritize People's Welfare - Oyo SSG

The Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo has reassured the residents of Oke-Ogun that the present administration is determined to ways prioritize the welfare of its people.

The SSG, while addressing residents of Oke Ogun 1, Federal Constituency called for their support in the Seyi Makinde led administration's efforts to take the State to the greater heights.

She stated this during a town Hall meeting of Oke-Ogun 1, Federal Constituency on the 2024 Oyo State  budget, held at Iseyin Local Government Headquarters, Iseyin.

She said Governor Seyi Makinde has performed creditably well with 75 percent budget performance recorded adding that he has made efforts to bring government to the door steps of the masses.

The government scribe further called for the unity of sons and daughters in Oke-Ogun, saying with this they will attain a common goal.

She hinted further that the establishment of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,(LAUTECH) Iseyin campus by Governor Seyi Makinde is a prayer answered to Oke-Ogun region, hinting that, the school would commence academy operation by December, 2023.

Speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Budget, and Economic Planning, Professor Adetunji Babatunde said it has been the tradition of the present administration to involve people in the preparation of its annual budget.

The Chairman Iseyin Local Government Area, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon said the annual town hall meeting marks a watershed in budget preparation, adding that, it is a paradigm shift from the old practice.

Traditional rulers present said last year's town-hall meeting yielded positive results, felt by all and sundry in the region.

They unanimously urged the State Government to "conclude their assignment on boundary adjustment in Oke-Ogun area of the State".

Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Adetunji Babatunde; Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaja Fausat Sani; Executive Assistant to the Governor on Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Kolawole Bello; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Ojelabi; Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Special Service, Mr. Akeem Salami; Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers, Religious leaders among others.
