Subsidy Removal: Create Palliative Measures For Nigerians Now, Professor Olagoke Tells Tinubu.

 





 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been advised to create some palliative measures to alleviate the sufferings of the masses as a result of the subsidy removal from petroleum while also urging him to embark on massive promotion and educating the masses  on  the future effects of the government's action.


 This was contained in the congratulatory message signed by the Founder, Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of the Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP and made available to journalists in Ibadan.


Prof. Olagoke also urged  President Tinubu to take a bold step and publish the names of sector  beneficiaries of the removed subsidy as its positive effect for Nigerians to testify to the Federal Government's sincere approach to the subsidy removal.


Prof. Olagoke who is also the Mogaji of OgunElu, Aare Alasa Dynasty also congratulate the President for taking a bold step on the first day of his taking over the baton of leadership.   Prof. Olagoke hinted that though President Tinubu promised to remove the subsidy during the campaign and he still won the election. 


Prof. Olagoke while speaking about the most preferred palliative materials advised the president to make available busses and functional railway system to all the States of the Federation for people to go about their businesses with ease.


 "Now that the pump price of petrol has risen to ₦500.00, the negative effect of that will be hike in transport fares and many consumables will be expensive  but if the Federal Government can improve on our transportation system, the effect will not be too harsh on the people". 


The Arole OgunElu however called on Labour leaders to embrace dialogue with the Government instead of confrontation that may destabilise and truncate the economy.


 “Labour leaders should not engage in any form of confrontation and violence that can set the Nation on fire”.


Prof. Olagoke also urged President Tinubu to as a matter of urgency, work on a rapid transformation of our refineries within the first one year of his administration which according to him will later force the price of petrol to go down and make our money through the exportation of petrol instead of crude Oil.


The Shafaudeen boss however expressed his satisfaction that the president will put the round peg in the round hole in the selection of members of his cabinet.


“If President Tinubu can  remove subsidy, he would have delivered more incentives in reducing corruption than many last governments put together”



“The political will to see these through and the resilience and solidarity of Nigerians will be required because these will be a very difficult pills to swallow. Radical surgery and radiotherapy may bring cure, but they are not painless procedures" Olagoke added.
