Oyo OPC Appeals to President Bola Tinubu, South West Leaders to Intervene in the Release of Sunday Igboho.

The Oyo state chapter  of the Odua Peoples  Congress  (OPC) has called on President  Bola Tinubu, traditional  rulers and and well meaning  Nigerians  especially prominent leaders in the South West, Nigeria, to intervene in the unconditional release  of Chief  Sunday Adeyemo, popularly  known as "Sunday  Igboho"

The appeal was made  by the coordinator  of OPC in Oyo State, Comrade  Rotimi Olumo while addressing  news men  shortly  after  the state's executive council meeting of the organisation at Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Comrade  Olumo said that  it has now become imperative  for South West leaders to intervene in Sunday Sunday Igboho's matter, because  of his role in ensuring the unity of the region, as the Akogun Odua of Yoruba land.

Olumo said that Igboho as a Human Rights  activist, has always been fighting  for people's right and freedom and he also detest  cheating.

According  to Olumo,  Igboho has played, tremendous and highly  commendable roles in making sure that things are done the right  way in order  to foster, the growth, unity and stability  of Nigeria.

Olumo further argued that  Sunday Igboho's contributions  to the growth and the development of Nigeria, can not be  measured  and that is why OPC  is now using this opportunity to appeal to President Tinubu  to grant him amnesty,  that would ensure his unconditional  release  from detention in the Republic of Benin.

The OPC leader  also used  this period to thank some Yoruba leaders and traditional  rulers for their support,  since Sunday Igboho's detention  in the neighbouring  West African country.

He said 'this is the appropriate  time and period  for all Yoruba leaders and traditional rulers  not to relent and put more efforts in making sure that Igboho  who has been a pride and source of inspiration to the Yoruba race gain his freedom.

Olumo said that  Igboho has always been helping people as a human Rights  activist  and empowering the less  privileged  in the Society, saying that with his humanitarian gesture, he has catered  for many poor families who depended  on him and who are now  suffering   since his incarceration.

The OPC leader said that no matter  what, Igboho  has a lot of experience  and goodwill  which could be deployed to support the present administration  of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

He said that Igboho  meant no harm to this country and  it is believed  that President Tinubu who is a kindhearted  leader and father  of all, would extend his kindness  to see that  Igboho is set free.

Olumo posited  that President Tinubu has started  well with  all the commendable steps he has so far taken.  He said Nigeria is very  lucky  to have him at this critical  period, when the  country, needs a total reformation, adding  that the release of  Igboho  and others  who are being unjustly   detained would gladden the hearts of Nigerians, as this singular gesture  would be an indelible  mark in the history  of Nigeria  that would  make President Tinubu to be the most compassionate  leader Nigeria ever produced.

Olumo said that with President Tinubu, now in power, Nigeria would move to the next level and be among the countries  in the world to be reckoned  with.

He called on all Nigerians  to give the President  all their support to move the nation to greater  heights.
