OYO SETS TO EMBARK ON GAS MASTER PLAN.

                

Oyo State government is to develop gas master plan in collaboration with Shell Nigeria Gas(SNG) to expand its economy ,attract more big businesses and also ensure energy security in Oyo   state. 

      

The state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources Barrister Temilolu  Ashamu stated this in a statement issued in Ibadan .

    

The master plan according to him will provide the  medium to long term development, trajectory that would increase the supply of Gas across the state.

     

Ashamu said Shell Nigeria Gas(SNG) would assist the Oyo State government to develop such gas master plan,which he said was intended to cover the state implementation  driven by demand,while the state would also benefit from an increase in business as a result of gas availability. 

   

He also stated that SNG would carry Oyo State government along in terms of employment and skills development, adding that such infrastructure would create more jobs for the citizenry,create more means of livelihood and increase the IGR of the state.

He noted that the government of governor Seyi Makinde is determined to expand the state's economy and increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)in record time.

     

Barrister Ashamu said the agreement for the commencement of the gas project was reached by the state government and Shell Nigeria Gas in 2020, noting, that the take off of project has now come to fruition in the overall interest of both parties.
