The Provost of the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology (OYSCOHEST), Eleyele, Ibadan, Pharmacist Mrs. Oluyemisi Oyewo, has congratulated members of staff and students of the College for successfully witnessing the year 2026 in the face of the nation’s numerous socio-economic challenges.
This congratulatory message was contained
in a press release by the College’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sola Samuel Ojewole.
The Provost appreciated the dedication and commitment of all members of staff in advancing the progress of the College, while also commending the students for their resilience, discipline, and hard work throughout the year 2025.
Mrs. Oyewo attributed the achievements recorded by the institution to the spirit of cooperation and teamwork among staff, students, and critical stakeholders, particularly the Governing Council, led by the Right Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan.
She urged all members of the College community to contribute meaningfully to the overall growth and development of the institution.
The Provost cautioned the staff and students against the spread of false rumours capable of tarnishing the image of the College, emphasizing that her office remains open for clarification and verification of facts at all times.
She promised to leverage the management's relationships with the College alumni and other stakeholders to attract partnerships in infrastructural development, aimed at creating a more conducive teaching and learning environment.
The Provost expressed her appreciation to the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for the continuous support received from the state government since inception. She however, appealed for more support in 2006, especially in the areas of further expansion of the institution’s physical infrastructure and the signing of the new College law, which has been passed into law by the State House of Assembly.
While thanking God for His mercies and grace in allowing all to see the New Year, the Provost emphasized the importance of love, diligence, understanding, cooperation, and mutual trust in advancing the best interests of the College.
She concluded by praying that God grants the heart’s desires of every member of the College community and called on staff to intensify prayers for the overall wellbeing, growth, and success of OYSCOHEST.
