Oyo Govt. Promises Quality Tertiary Education

The Oyo State Government has assured that the present administration will give special attention to development of tertiary education in the state.

The Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo stated this while hosting the Governing Council of the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele Ibadan, in her office on Friday.

She urged the Management of the College to be more proactive on academic accreditations of the school, in order to compete favourably with other institutions within and outside Nigeria.

Professor Adeyemo admonished the staff of the College to take advantage of the institution's long-term experience, and revamp the Alumni association of the college.

This, according to her would take the school to the greater heights, adding that Governor Makinde is committed to the growth and development of higher institutions.

The Secretary to the State Government advised the college management to collaborate with other higher institutions in the country to upgrade its certificate, noting that it would increase the college's ranking and rating in the country.

She said, "collaborate with institutions, you can do a twinning programme to upgrade your certificate, people will be willing to pay more and it will help the college performance".

In his remarks, the Chairman of the college Governing Council, Dr. Aaron Ola Ogundinwin enjoined the State Government to support the institution in accreditation of courses in the college.
