Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has described the late Agura of Gbagura, Oba Sabur Bakre, as an harbinger of culture and tradition, who impacted positively on peaceful coexistence in the kingdom and the state.

He also praised the leadership acumen of the late monarch, describing him as a unifier of the four pillars of Egbaland, adding that he served his people and the country with his heart.

The Governor spoke during the 8th Day Fidau programme for the late royal father in Abeokuta, as he noted that the traditional council in the state witnessed speedy development through various contributions of Oba Bakre.

He stressed that the sole  mission of Oba Bakre while alive was to unite the Egba traditional council, confirming that the late traditional ruler was intelligent and eloquent.

"He was a thorough bred Egba man. He served his people, his country Nigeria and humanity at large with passion and everything God had given him. From all accounts, he was a generous giver, he was loved by everyone, he was gentle, amiable, intelligent and  eloquent.

"The late king  made history by unifying the four pillars of Egbaland. He unified Gbagura, Ake, Osile and Owu; he was really a unifier of sort", he said.

The Governor also described the late Agura as a loving husband and father, who impacted the life of many positively, urging well wishers at the Fidau prayer to learn from the life of Oba Bakre and impact the lives of people around them in a positive way.
