Oyo NIS Commends Governor Makinde over Appointment of Surveyor General

 



The Chairman, Nigeria Institution of Surveyors, Oyo State Branch, Surveyor Abiodun Lamidi has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing one of their members as the substantive Surveyor General of Oyo State, 


He stated this during a courtesy visit paid to the Surveyor General Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.


Surveyor Lamidi said Nigeria Institution of Surveyors are ready to partner with the Oyo State Government and the Surveyor General Office for a smooth working relationship that will bring development to the State.


The Chairman NIS hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for recruiting 28 new officers as full staff of the Office of the Surveyor General of Oyo State, hinting that, it would fast track the work of the State Government.


He pointed out that the corporation between the Office of the Surveyor General, Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON) and the Nigeria Institution of Surveyors would surely move the State forward.


Responding, the newly appointed Surveyor General of Oyo State, Surveyor Olusoji Adeoye appreciated the NIS for their support at all time, noting that, he would work to ensure synergy among Surveyors in the State.


The Surveyor General added that Oyo State Government would continue  to provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the State.

OYHA moves to Strengthen Enforcement of Environmental laws in the State




In its efforts to ensure a more standard, friendly and pollution free environment for the people of Pacesetter State, the Oyo State House of Assembly has called on the State Government to strengthen the enforcement of Environmental Regulations,  particularly on air and water pollution across  companies, lounges, institutions and malls in the State.


This was part of resolves in a motion moved by the lawmaker representing Oyo East/West State Contituency,  Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman during the  Plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.


Presenting the motion,  Hon. Olorunpoto revealed that the air and water pollution caused by companies,  lounges, institutions,  malls and other establishments poses  a significant threat to public health and the environment,  leading to respiratory illness, waterborne diseases and environmental degradation.


The motion co - sponsored by Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin  ( Ibarapa East ) , Hons. Sanjo Adedoyin  ( Ogbomosho South ), Abiodun Babalola ( Ibadan East 1), and  G.J Oyekola ( Atiba ) stated that the improper discharge of industrial effluents, toxic emissions and poor waste management practices by some establishments across Oyo State contribute to the containment of water bodies, air pollution,  and the deteriorating of ecosystem.


Hon. Olorunpoto explained further that it is imperative to strengthen the enforcement of Environmental standards  inorder to curb the menace of water and air pollution,  and ensure appropriate punishment for any individual violating the law guilding Environmental activities in the State as stated by the law.


"The Environmental Management Laws of Oyo State mandate strict compliance with Environmental standards and provide for punitive measures against non - compliance,  yet some businesses and institutions continue to flout these laws  with impunity "


"The inadequate enforcement of Environmental Regulations and the lack of regular monitoring create a loophole for  non - compliant businesses to operate at the expense of public health and environmental sustainability." He added.


Reacting to the various submissions during the debate on the motion, the Speaker,  Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin has however directed the standing committees on Environment,  Water Resources and Ecology to make a general assessment on the roles of Local and  State  Governments in ensuring  clean environments across the State,  and its sustainability. 



The House also called on all  companies , lounges, mall and institutions in Oyo State to adopt eco - friendly practices,  such as proper waste disposal,  water recycling and emission control system in compliance with environmental laws in the State.

2027: Oyo Market Leaders Deny Supporting Governorship Aspirant, Declare Loyalty To Makinde's Leadership

Market leaders and stakeholders in Oyo state have distance themselves from reports that the leadership of market associations in Oyo state has declared support for a governorship aspirant for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state, under the opposition party, APC.



In a communique issued and signed by chairmen and chairpersons of twelve market clusters in Oyo state after addressing journalists in Ibadan, the market leaders also disowned Alhaja Saratu Konibaje for declaring her support for Engr. Remi Oseni of A.P.C for 2027 election in the State.



The leaders and stakeholders who believed that Alhaja Saratu Aduke only speak for herself and not for all traders in Oyo State, went further to query why she addresses herself as lyaloja General of Oyo State, requesting to know who gave her the title of lyaloja General of Oyo State.



According to the communique, all the traders in Oyo State have been directed to ignore any directive from anybody, including Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, on any 2027 gubernatorial aspirant in the State and wait for further directives at the appropriate time.



"What authority does she has to speak on behalf of traders in Oyo State? presently we don't have any Iyaloja General of Oyo State and nobody should lay claim to it.

"It is on this note that they declared their unalloyed support for the administration of His Excellency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde and applauded his pro-poor policy and his development projects all over the State.

"Stating clearly that they can only support any candidate presented to them by His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for the governorship position of Oyo State come 2027.

Earlier while addressing the press, the market leaders and stakeholders denied allegations that the leadership of the association had received money worth millions of naira, to support the aspirations of a politician for the 2027 governorship race.

In his address, the Babaloja General of Oyo state, Alhaji Yekini Abass also known as YK Abass said no trader association under the Oyo state market leaders received such money from anybody

Alhaji Abass said the purpose of addressing the press was to come out publicly and declare their unflinching support for the leadership and administration of governor Seyi Makinde, noting that the market leaders in the state are solidly behind the governor.

"We are assuring governor Makinde that all the market associations in Oyo state are behind him, that's why we're all present here, we're boldly telling the governor to relax, trust God and the association, we've been following him and will not stop now"

Alhaji YK Abass however appealed to the governor to reconstitute the Oyo state Market Leaders Council, to further solidify the operations of market leaders in the state.

He appealed to the governor to also extend his hand of love to the leadership of the market associations by donating buses to trader and artisan associations as he has done for many students, religious and farmers' associations as well as institutions.

He appealed to governor Makinde to disregard insinuations and unfounded rumor in some quarters that the market leadership in Oyo state is not United and that it is against the leadership of the governor.

Also speaking, the Asiwaju Oloja General of Oyo state, Chief Mrs Julianna Raimi who commended governor Seyi Makinde for his giant strides in road and infrastructural development in Oyo state said it has been the style of any market and artisan association to always be in total support of any government in power.

Chief Mrs Raimi who is the market leader for Agbeni/Ogunpa Market also disowned the membership of some alleged impostor going about tarnishing the image of market associations in the state.

Others who spoke at the briefing reiterated their unalloyed support for Governor Seyi Makinde's leadership in his determination to transform, develop, reposition and maintain peace in Oyo state.

CHAIRMAN AGBALA ITURA OLODE BOARD OF ELDERS SAM OSASONA CLOCKS 65,THANKS GOD FOR HIS FAVOUR AND MERCY AT PLANTERS PRAISE DAY 2025

 



 Giving his testimonies during the Praise Day celebrations organized by Planters International Men and Women held on Messaih Prayer Mountain CAC Agbala Itura International Headquarters Olode , new Ife Road Ibadan , Elder Samuel Osasonawho hails from Ekiti and settled in Ibadan in 1978,expressed his gratitude to God for sparing his life and for sustaining him in the last  sixty five years.


 The CAC Agbala Itura  Olode Board of Elders Chairman said he had passed through difficult times in the past but it was the grace of God and mercy of God that saw him through .


 It was praise galore by the Chairman Agbala Itura International Headquarters  , Olode Ibadan  Elder Samuel Osasona who attains 65 years  on Saturday 11th January , 2025 .


 Elder Osasona said  he was once nobody but now somebody through the intervention  of Jesus Christ who was faithful to him in all circumstances and situations .


 He said  he and other Elders had not regretted joining CACAgbala Itura because  of spiritual fulfilment and physical progress .


 In an interview with journalists, Elder Sam osasona thanked Prophet  Kayode Abiara, Pastor Abraham Akinpelu , the DCC Superintendent  CAC Agbala Itura  , the General Secretary CAC Agbala Itura Worldwide, pastor Isaac Leye Olokose and host of other Pastors for standing by him and the Board of Elders of CAC Agbala Itura Olode  Ibadan .

Ex Iseyin LG Chair Adeleke, Daughter ADEJUMOKE Set on 45th Remembrance of Late Alhaji Mustafa Adeleke

 



• Donate School Materials Worth N.4m to Some Primary Schools in Iseyin




As part of several activities lined up to mark commencement of 45th remembrance of his late father, former Executive Chairman, Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State,  Hon. Waheed Mobolaji Adeleke and his daughter, Adejumoke Adeleke have donated school materials worth nearly  Five Hundred Thousand(N500,000) to some primary schools in Iseyin.


The programme of materials' donation that was partly sponsored by his eldest daughter Adejumoke  under  Positive Force Initiative(PFI) include exercise books, pencils, erasers and pens, and were distributed to pupils in Faramora Community Primary School and ADS School 1, 2 and 3 respectively.


Those  materials presented on Wednesday, 8th January at the  former school , marks the commencement of several activities lined up for the 45th remembrance of his his late father, ALH MUSTAFA ADELEKE who passed on in 1980.


While speaking, Adeleke reiterated that, the presentation of school materials to some selected schools in Iseyin was consequent upon readiness to mark commencement of generous activities that are lined up for remembrance of the late Icon and notable  community leader.


Iseyin-born politician and Business Mogul however called on teachers and coordinators to ensure fair, equitable and just distribution of the materials to all pupils on which the donation was made.


He urged the state government to come up with a sound and effective policy on education; hammering on one that will make the classrooms more attractive to both teachers and learners.


Chairman, Planning Committee and Faramora Community, Comrade Babatunde Dapo disclosed that the school materials cost nearly N500,000 as  its idea was initiated to aid education of the less privileged pupils.


He hinted that, outcome of the research conducted on appropriate needs by the pupils culminated into donation of the writing materials for the pupils.


In his remarks, Major Fatai Shittu Agba(Rtd) who chaired the occasion showered encomiums on programme's initiator (Mobolaji Adeleke) for showing his philanthropic gestures and kindness to pupils without minding their sources, religions and other dichotomies.


He said, Adeleke remains a personality of note who continues to identify with people in cash and kindness since over eighteen years which he had left office as the council chairman.


Former NULGE Chairman in Iseyin LG, Alhaj Jeleel Yakub, AOPHSON Chairman, Comrade Awoniyi R.A, Iseyin NUT Chairman, Comrade Ademola Wasiu, and a community leader, Alhaji Abdullah Badrudeen lauded his  gestures and however enjoined not to stop extending generosity to all and sundry without minding differences.


The epoch making occasion had in attendance of the programme's Initiator, Hon. Waheed Mobolaji Adeleke, Programme's Planning Committee, Community Leaders, teachers from selected schools and host of others.

Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade’s ascension is undoubtedly divinely orchestrated, and as the chosen one, his reign is poised to bring unity, development, and global recognition to the Oyo Kingdom. I urge all sons and daughters of Oyo to rally around our new monarch as we collectively strive for the greatness of our kingdom.


May the reign of Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo, be long, peaceful, and prosperous. May it reflect the divine will that has guided him to this exalted throne.
