LEGAL MONGUL BARRISTER OLUDARE ADEWALE ASSESSES Nigeria AT 64




An Ibadan born Legal Professional and retired  Senior Banking Officer  cum Public  Affairs Commentator BARRISTER  Oludare ADEWALE  has said all hope is not lost in spite of  myriad of socio economic and political challenges  facing Nigeria marking it's 64th Independence Anniversary.



Chatting with newsmen in Ibadan ,BARRISTER ADEWALE said as long as Nigeria still remains an indivisible entity, there is a better future and  Nigeria would bounce back again.

He noted  that  the problems confronting Nigeria are not peculiar, other nations  of the world are experiencing such problems.



While calling on government at various levels to address insecurity, joblessness,, kidnapping , corruption, killings  and other  problems, Barrister Oludare Adewale  called on people to always do what is right and pursue what will move Nigeria forward.


Barrister Adewale said as Nigeria is celebrating 64 years of her Independence, all hands must be on deck to ensure the development and progress of the country.



The Legal icon  called on President Bola Tinubu to put in place policies and Programme that would ameliorate the sufferings of the masses.


He noted that the government should as a matter of urgency   address the problems of high cost of living occasioned by skyrocketing  prices of goods and services arising from the removal of petroleum products subsidy.


Barrister Oludare  Adewale  equally cautioned Nigerians to always speak well about Nigeria , pray for her and abstain from any act capable of retarding the progress of Nigeria.


He appealed to those planning to protest on Tuesday  1st October , 2024 to shelve the idea but engage the Authorities in meaningful peaceful dialogue  as hoodlum could hijack such peaceful protests as applied to End SARS  protest by its organisers in the year 2020.


While congratulating Nigerians for witnessing the 64th independence of Nigeria , Barrister Oludare  Adewale prayed God to grant Nigeria desired peace , progress  and development in all spheres of life.

Oyo Fire Services Agency Commends Governor Makinde for Staff Welfare package, Fire Equipment

 



The General Manager, Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Reverend Canon Yemi Akinyinka has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for staff welfare package and the new fire equipment for the agency.


He stated this during the final examination for the Eighty (80) newly recruited officers of the Agency, held at the agency premises, Secretariat, Ibadan.



Akinyinka said the shortlisted candidate had passed through  series of training in both practical and theory to the final physical examination.


He said "we are training our newly recruited officers on how to rescue people from the story building which is the final stage of their training exercise, examination".



He continued "we cannot send them to the field until we know they can do the job, we are fearing well, the State Government is planning to  purchase new vehicles for us, we are also collecting our hazard allowances regularly".


Responding, one of the newly recruited officers of the agency, Ahmed Lateefat Titilayo appreciated the State Government for giving them opportunity to serve the State and bring them out of the labour market.


She also hailed the entire management staff of the agency for their support during the training exercise at the agency.

Hon, Sanda, Tommy, Die Hard Loyalist Comrade Laide Olanrewaju (MAJE) Turns Plus one

 



One of the die-hard loyalists of the Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele turned plus one on Wednesday 25/09/2024.



Comrade Maje was a thorough bred professional Accountant by training and astute civil servant .



He said "I thank God, today is my birthday, I am grateful to Almighty God and my leaders, comrade Sanda Sikiru Oyedele and the Chairman Pack Management Sysyem, Oyo State Branch, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa popularly known as (Tommy) for their leadership role and support.



He said Chairman (PMS) Oyo State, Alhaji Tommy was his benefactor "I will always be loyal to my leader, comrade Tommy at all times because of his support and kindness. 


Maje added further that Park Management Sysyem in Oyo State  is wearing a new look with decent people working at the various motor parks across the state without any crisis or chaos.


He said Tommy led PMS committee has reformed the motor parks garages from touts to decent and respected  people in the society, saying that, that is the work of a good leader .

Public Service Week: Adopt Modern Technological Innovations for Effective Service Delivery - Oyo HOS

 



The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni has charged Accounting Officers across the Ministries Departments and Agencies to adopt the modern technological innovations within their Ministries to modernize service delivery and keep pace with the global standards.



She stated this during a one-day workshop on performance improvement for effective and efficient service delivery for the Permanent Secretaries and other Accounting Officers in the Oyo State Civil/Public Service, organized by the office of the Head of Service at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan. 




She said service delivery was  a strategic pillar not only for development but also for optimizing the manpower under the Accounting Officer's supervision with an articulated development plan that resonates with social - economic goals.



The Head of Service said digital tools can streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, improve data management and provide innovative solutions to daily challenges.



She said, "I am confident that by embracing technology, we can significantly enhance efficiency, reduce errors and ensure faster service delivery to the citizen of Oyo State, I urge you all Permanent Secretaries and Accounting Officers to champion the adoption of these technologies within your MDA's to modernize our service delivery".



She enjoined the participants to transform the knowledge garnered from the workshop for the development of the Civil Service.


Mrs Oni added further that to drive performance improvement in the State Civil Service, Permanent Secretaries and Accounting Officers must develop work plans align with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde Omititun 2.0 Sustainable Development Agenda which aimed to create a conducive working  environment for all Civil Servants.



The guest lecturer, Dr. Toyin Adeleye in his paper titled "Doing More with less: Optimizing resources for maximum impact in the Oyo State Civil/Public Service"  commended Governor Seyi Makinde for prioritizing the workers welfare across Oyo State.


Dr. Adeleye described the Oyo State Civil Servants as the best in Nigeria with intellectual capacity and administrative prowess for development in the State.

OYSCOHEST ORGANISES ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FRESH STUDENTS



 

A two day Orientation programme was recently organised by the College Management for the newly admitted students of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele,  Ibadan  to intimate the new students about the College settings, rules and regulations of the College and set standard for academic excellence.



Declaring the event held in the College Hall, the PROVOST of the College, Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo congratulated the new students for gaining admission to the prestigious College, urging them to buckle down for the academic challenges for excellent performance.



She said the College  will continue to create a conducive environment for learning and urged the students to tap into the opportunity for excellent academic performance.



Reiterating that the ninet-one year old Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology is one of the oldest and best Colleges of Health Technology in Nigeria.  The OYSCOHEST boss  advised the students to sustain the tempo of academic standard and moral uprightness for which the College has been known since its establishment in 1933.



She also made it known to the students that  the College Management will not condone any act of indiscipline and moral ineptitude by the students.



Also speaking during the programme, the College Registrar,  Mrs Dupe Ayoola charged the students to always abide  by the rules and regulations of the College, warning them that the College will not hesitate to discipline erring students. 




She said the rules and regulations are enshrined in the Students' Handbook,  calling on the students to always behave well  as she wished them  success in their chosen courses.



Delivering a lecture titled "The Ethics of Lifestyle", the Guest Lecturer, Professor Jacob Kehinde Ayantayo of the Department of Religious Studies,  University of Ibadan charged the students to set a good moral standard for themselves and adopt good interpersonal relationship with others in the College irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds and also advised them to be diligent so as to excel in their studies. 


Speaking on "Students' Expectations and Responsibilities", another Guest Speaker,  Dr  lkeoluwapo Moody encouraged the new students to  be focused on their studies as that is primary reason they are in the College. She also cautioned them  against illicit intimate affairs with the opposite sex as such could precipitate an abrupt end to their lives' ambitions. She advised them to wait for the appropriate time and face their studies for now, in order for them to have a brilliant future, devoid of regrets and failure. 


In their separate remarks, some of the  students interviewed by the Public Relations' Officer of the College, Mr Sola Samuel Ojewole  commended the Management of the College, ably led by the PROVOST, Mrs  Oluyemisi Oyewo for organizing the two  Day Orientation Programme which they said  had benefited them in various ways. They all promised to keep the flag of the College flying  and abstain from any nefarious behaviour and activities capable of smearing their images and that of the College. 



Other lectures included a lecture by the NDLEA representative on Drug Abuse and Misuse,  Security and Safety lectures by the DSS and the Fire Service Agency of Oyo State as well as a lecture on sexual behaviour among the youth delivered by Mrs Ronke Olutayo.

Resolve Crisis Between Oyo/Osun Boundary Imbroglio, Oyo Deputy Governor Charges NBC

 



The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, and the Chairman, Oyo State Boundary Dispute Committee. Barrister Bayo Lawal has urged the National Boundary Commission to resolve the age long boundary crisis between Oyo and Osun States.


He stated this during an advocacy visit by officials of the National Boundary Commission to Oyo State on boundary matters, held at the mediation center, Secretariat, Ibadan.


He enjoined the NBC to come up with the decisive decision between the Lagelu Local Government and Iwo Local Government respectfly. 


He said "look at the evidence before you and take a decision, I urge you all to look at it critically and decide the boundary for the two states.


The Deputy Governor pointed out that Oyo State would not leave one inch of its land to any State unjustly, just as he tasked the NBC to summon courage and do the needful at the approoriate time.


He advised people of the area not to take laws into their hands, hinting that, Oyo State has more than enough evidence to convince the NBC that the disputed areas in Lagelu and Surulere Local Government areas belong to Oyo State.


In his remarks, the Director General, National Boundary Commission, Surveyor Adamu Adaji commended the Oyo State Government for allowing peace to reign on the boundary disputed areas.


He added that the National Boundary Commission would expedite actions by doing  justice to the affected areas concerned in Oyo and Osun States boundary matters.

Public Service Week: Participate More In Sporting Activities, Oyo HOS Charges Civil Servants




The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni has urged Civil Servants across the State to participate more in sporting activities, saying that, it will give them more energy to perform their duties optimally.


She stated this during a football competition as part of the activities lined up for the 2024 Public Service Week held at the Ikolaba High School Stadium, Agodi-GRA, Ibadan.



She said the purpose of the competition is to bring together Civil Servants across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies to play games together and know each other better.


She said "the football competition would sharpen their skills and knowledge, it is not about winning the game by all means, it is about participation to make the 2024 Public Service Week a robust one'.




She continued, "I encourage you all to participate in other available sporting activities like Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Boxing, Volleyball, among others who know who will make the public service proud tomorrow".


She expressed satisfaction over the results of the games played so far saying that, the participation was so overwhelming across the MDAs, just as she frowned against the use of the mercenaries at the ongoing public Service football competition.


The Head of Service called on Civil Servants across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies to always come as a spectator to encourage their teams and gear them up to victory at the Ikolaba High School Stadium, Ibadan.


In his remarks, the Chairman -Sub Committee on Sport, Mr Lukman Muraina commended players across the MDAs for their fair play since the beginning of the competition.

OYSCOHEST HOSTS HEALTH RECORD OFFICERS' REGISTRATION BOARD OF NIGERIA'S




Accreditation Team


In its continued effort at fostering academic and professional standard , Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology , Eleyele Ibadan has hosted  the Accreditation Team of the Health Records Officers' Registration Board of Nigeria who  visited the College for the Professional  Accreditation of Health Information Management Programme.



Welcoming the 4 member Accreditation team to the College, the Provost of the College applauded the Board for its continal efforts at setting and upholding high academic and professional standards of the Health Information Management profession.


In his remarks , the  Team Lead, Mr Samson Gidado said the essence of the visit was to assess the level of compliance of the College with the Board's guidelines, with the aim of offering advices on how to improve the standard of training and not to find faults.


Speaking during the exit briefing at the end of the 2 days' exercise, Mr Gidado highlighted the areas of strength and the weaknesses observed by the Team, while commending the Management of the College for its efforts in ensuring the training of high standard Health Information Management officers. He urged the College to do more especially in the areas of staffing and upgrading of some of the obsolete facilities and equipment.


In her response, the College Provost promised to take necessary steps to bridge the identified gaps and lapses.


Health Information Management is one of the 18 courses currently being run by the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology,  established 91 years ago.

Environment: FUPRE Unveils Zero Waste Campus Project



The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE),  Professor Akpofure Rim-Rukeh has commended Centre for Waste Management and Sustainable Resources for its Zero campus initiative in Delta State.



Professor Akpofure underscored the importance of the initiative, stating that it marks the beginning of the end for improper waste disposal on campus. 


He stated this during the launching of the Zero Waste Campus Project, organized by the Centre for Waste Management and Sustainable Resources, held at the university's new auditorium, Delta State where he drew a diverse audience of students, faculty, environmental experts, and community stakeholders.



He urged the Centre to prioritize the implementation of composting as a key strategy, aligning FUPRE with the nationwide Waste-to-Wealth initiative. 



Professor Akpofure said. "This project represents a turning point for our university by managing waste more effectively, we are not only improve our campus environment but also contribute to broader environmental goals with the support of relevant agencies."


Speaking at the event, the Director of the Centre for Waste Management and Sustainable Resources, Dr. Yemi Ogunkeyede outlined the vision behind the Zero Waste Campus Project.


He described the initiative as a comprehensive approach to creating a sustainable ecosystem where responsible consumption, waste reduction, recycling and composting are integral parts of campus life. 


"Our aim is to transform waste into valuable resources, " Dr. Ogunkeyede explained. "We want to create a culture where every member of the university community understands the impact of their waste and actively participates in reducing it."


Highlight of the event featured a range of activities designed to engage and inspire attendees. Waste to wealth talk was delivered by leading waste management professionals highlighted innovative strategies and best practices in sustainable waste management. Students also took center stage, sharing their creative ideas and projects on recycling, composting, and repurposing waste materials. 


Interactive sessions and exhibitions provided hands-on demonstrations of recycling techniques, composting methods, and upcycling crafts, fostering a sense of community involvement and ownership.


Ogunkeyede added that. "The Zero Waste Campus Project is a key component of FUPRE's broader commitment to environmental sustainability, the initiative aims to reduce the university’s waste footprint to near zero by promoting practices such as waste segregation, recycling, and organic waste composting. 


The environmental expert added further that It also aligns with global sustainable development goals, particularly those focused on responsible consumption and production, climate action, and creating sustainable communities.


"As FUPRE embarks on this ambitious journey, the project represents an opportunity for the university to serve as a model for other institutions across Nigeria and beyond." 


"The university community and its partners are optimistic that the Zero Waste Campus Project will not only enhance the campus environment but also empower the next generation of environmental stewards, driving positive change for the future".


The event concluded with a call to action from Professor Rim-Rukeh, who encouraged everyone in attendance to support the initiative and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the university and the wider community.

Why We Organize Sport Competition For 2024 Public Service Week - Committee Chair




The Chairman Planning Committee for the 2024 Public Service Week, Mrs Christiana Abioye has disclosed that the committee organized Sport Competition For Ministries Department and Agencies to bring out the best from the State work force.


She stated this during the official opening of the sport competition to commence the 2024 Civil/Public Service Week at the Ikolaba Grammar School, Agodi GRA, Ibadan.


Abioye said "we are so blessed in Oyo State as all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy and we are not dull in Oyo State, we are very smart, we need to Oil our engine, we need to exercise our body, when you exercise your body, your brain will be very shap, it will make our staff to discharge their duties as expected that is why we included sport competition as part of the weeklong programme which is the first of it kind ".



She added that the football competition game is not going to be a do or die affair, though at the end of the competition, the winner would be motivated. 


She hinted further that it was a win -win game among Civil Servants to mark the 2024 Public Service Week.



The Chairman Planning Committee opined that out of  Seventeen (17) MDA's, Eleven (11) registered for the game for the first time the football competition was incorporated into the weeklong programme.


She then commended Governor Seyi Makinde for approving the 2024 Public Service Week, saying that, the Governor is a talk and do Governor.



Also speaking at the football competition, the Sub-Committee Chairman also doubled as the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Local Government Pension Board Mr. Muraina said the football competition among the MDA'S at the end of the game would produce a standard team for the State Civil Service that can stand to partake in Sport Competition across the country.



Muraina explained that the on-going Public Service competition would produce the Civil Service team, (Best, 11.) that can face any football club in Nigeria, through the support of Governor Seyi Makinde and the State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni.

OROGUN REGIONAL EVANGELIST PASTOR ELISHA ALALADE HINGES ON GODLINESS, IMPETUS FOR REAL SPIRITUAL LIBERTY


 



The CAC Orogun Regional Evangelist and  DCC Superintendent Oke Osun Pastor Elisha Olusanya Alalade has stressed the need for Godliness, righteousness and Holiness as spiritual requirements for real liberty and spiritual rejuvenation. 



Pastor Alalade stated this while fielding questions from journalists at the grand finale of five-day annual Alpha and Omega Special programme titled Real Liberty held at CAC Ori Oke Ikoyi Isokan Local Government, Osun State, Nigeria.


The Regional Evangelist said God created human beings in His own image to flourish and serve God but for disobedience of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden where the sin of humanity started leading to being in bondage and shackles of sin and spiritual slavery. 



Pastor Elisha Olusanya Alalade noted with delight that  for God so loved the World, He had given His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to redeem people  who genuinely repent of their sins to have spiritual liberty and physical freedom to flourish and be blessed in all their undertakings. 


The CAC Senior Cleric however called on Christians to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour  for total freedom and real spiritual cleansing.



The Orioke Ikoyi Chairman and Coordinator called on the congregation and Christians at large  to eschew all sinful behaviour and attitude which he said are impediments to having real liberty as according to him no sinner can see God or enjoy His freedom and goodies. 


Baba Orioke Ikoyi while speaking on the state of the nation emphasized  that for Nigeria to move forward  people must free themselves from all sins and atrocities including corruption, love one another and follow the spiritual principle of serving God and humanity in truth and honesty. 



He commended the CAC Authorities under the able leadership of the astute CAC  President Nigeria and Overseas Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele for their constant supports for CAC Ori Oke Ikoyi Programmes and all CAC Assemblies which he said had brought a land slide progress and development to CAC  generally.


Leading a prayer session at the event , the CAC Efon Alaaye prayer Mountain Coordinator, Prophet Igbalajobi said it is not possible for anybody to be wallowing in sins and expect total freedom from God calling on people to be on the side of God to enjoy real freedom and spiritual rebirth.


The Prophet Igbalajobi said no one can fool God, warning that the only solution to having Real Liberty is to live a sinless life and uphold righteousness and Godliness.


Special prayers were held for individuals, the CAC, and Nigeria at large by the CAC Regional Evangelist Pastor Elisha Olusanya Alalade and other eminent Ministers of God.
