It was celebration galore recently when the Arole OgunElu , Aare Alasa Dynasty, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP visited his ancestral home in Ejemu Ologun compound Ejigbo in Osun State.
Residents of the Ejemu Ologun compound and its environs trouped out in their large numbers to welcome their own Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke who has made them proud in Ibadan by being installed as the fourth Mogaji (Arole) of the Aare Alasa Dynasty.
While speaking at the elaborate event which brought together the ten communities that formed the compound, the Mogaji OgunElu , Aare Alasa Dynasty, Alhaji Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP disclosed that his purpose of visiting the ancestral home of the OgunElu was to promote unity of purpose and to bring together the sons and daughters of the Dynasty for meaninful development.
Prof. Olagoke however revealed that the Ejemu Dynasty of Ejigbomekun and OgunElu Aare Alasa Dynasty of Ibadanland all here in Nigeria and in Diaspora are of the same bloodlines.
"We therefore share the same panegyrics and uphold the heritage of glorious customs and traditions but with allowed chosen religions by our members".
"Our social interactions must therefore be based on Unity of purpose and the same constitutional rights that protects the heritage of our glorious past and preserve our values, virtues, hard work and competence, courage for exemplary lifestyle and sustainable prosperity".
The renown cleric however appreciate OgunElu’s migration from Ejigbo to Ibadan in 1796 to co-defend the freedom and liberty of Ibadanland with the then industrious Son of Ejigboland – Ajayi Ogbofiefon as directed by the then Alaafin of Oyo - Oba Aole Aroganganloye against the onslaught and the wrath of the Gambaris from the North, during the time of Uthman Danfolio (1741 – 1804).
Going down the memory lane, Prof. Olagoke hinted that many generations had emerged from Ejemu in general and OgunElu Aare Alasa in particular making the family to scatter over the surface of the earth.
"At Ibadan, 43 years after the demise of OgunElu, Aare Shittu installed Oguntade as the Vicegerent (Arole) and 1st Mogaji who used the opportunity to roof the replicated Ejigbo - Igbejo in Ibadan. It serves the entire populace on Mediation and Reconciliation".
The Arole Ogun Elu, Prof. Olagoke also disclosed that the ancient mediation centre ( Igbejo) and OgunElu Villa is Ejemu Ologun bloodline was rebuilt in 2022 to a Modern day Status by him as the 4th Mogaji of Aare Alasa Dynasty.
"The significance of settling family matters of civil nature through Igbejo Court system cannot be overemphasized.Above all, Igbejo centralises all affairs, for ease of Information dissemination".
According to him the development have brought the scattered family members of the dynasty from all over the world together to promote unity and love .
"As we speak, I can boldly tell you that our sons and daughters are eager to come home to witness the rapid transformation that has happened to our place of settlement in Ibadan and by the special grace of the Almighty Allah and numerous developmental projects that will be put in place here, many of them will be moved to visit here" He remarked.
Prof. Olagoke who was highly elated by the large turnout also told the mammoth crowd that welcomed him that the OgunElu's name has been on the world recognition through his efforts to sell the lineage to the world through the social Media .
While speaking at the event , the Ejemu of Ejigboland, Alhaji Chief Sarafadeen Oyelade commended Prof. Olagoke for the love of the family and for bringing developmental projects to their ancestral home while also requested for functional school that will serve the community at large.
" We have visited your domain in Ibadan to see for ourselves the level of developments you have brought to the OgunElu stool and your immediate community , it is highly commendable and that is why we want you to come and do the same here and Almighty Allah will see you through and grant you the long live in good health to serve humanity"
The Agbaa ile (Alhaji Pa Jump Lawani), the Baale (Pa Moses Adeleke Elegunde) and the Secretary General , Abdul- Kareem Salaudeen who spoke at the event also lauded the kind gesture of Prof. Olagoke for bringing complete transformation to the family.
In his own words at the historic event , Alhaji Sheikh Ismaeel Amala, the Mogaji Esin Ogun - Elu , Aare Alasa Dynasty disclosed that the family is blessed with an illustrious son and that he would also do all within his reach to support Prof. Olagoke in his efforts to bring more honour to the family.
"We are lucky to have him in our family what we only need is to pray that Almighty Allah gives him the long live, good health and more prosperity to do more"
He however call on members of the Ogun- Elu family from all over the world to come together to build the family to enviable position .
"The erstwhile scattered members of the Dynasty are now together through the central focus of resuscitated Igbejo of our Origin therefore the Ejemu Dynasty in Ejigbo needs to resuscitate the erstwhile Mediation, Conciliation and Arbitration Centre that gave birth to the 1st Igbejo in Ibadanland that emerged from the migration from Ejigbo to Ibadan".
Prof. Olagoke however disclosed that the youths must be united at the home front so as to connect with other youths of the dynasty from the offshoot, most especially Ejemu Oju - Oja, Ejemu Ologun and Ejemu Oju - Ode
"There is every need for the youth to learn correctly from our Elders since development is better driven by wisdom which mostly come from the glorious experiences of the elder ones.Sustainable development largely depends on the exemplary lifestyle of our elders without compromising the efforts of the Youth to stand on their own in future to develop by building upon the dynasty heritage of virtues and valours at accelerated pace".
OgunElu Aare Alasa Ibadan in history is a product of Ejemu Dynasty in Ejigbo hence, of the same bloodlines. There is a need for synergy in development, Prof. Olagoke stated .
The high point of the historic visit of Prof. Olagoke was the foundation laying of the Ejemu House of Unity (Ejemu Unity Hall) - the Mediation and Conciliation Centre for the Ejemu Dynasty in Ejigbo which according to him will foster unity and trust that will strengthen them to sustainable development while the OgunElu Villa is to immortalise OgunElu as a symbol of his reality, strength and valour that are emulatable by all his descendants in particular. So also, the Olohungbe Mosque which metamorphosed from the Ejemu Ologun female shrine shall be renovated to a befitting 21st century Mosque.
